·  It's always nice to use a little html if you know it. If you don't but you're interested in learning it, a great site to check out it Lissa Explains It All. It's very easy to understand.

·  DO NOT write in alternating cap LiKe DiS because it gets on a lot of peoples' nerves, including mine!

·  Make sure the colors you use aren't too hard on the eyes. If people can't read your site, chances are that they won't come back!

·  Don't type your text too small or too big ... a nice medium size is perfect! Again, if it's hard to read your site, people won't come back.

·  Update your site as often as possible.

·  Be as nice as possible to people who come to your site or other site owners because people will eventually gang up on you and it's just not cool to be mean to people!

·  Have things on your site for the viewers to take to use on their site such as css codes, layouts, graphics, backgrounds, etc.

·  Have original content!

·  Have your own subpages. The more original content you have on your site, the better chances you have for people to stay at your site longer. They don't want to waste their time reading stuff they may have already read before.

·  Get a guestbook or something like that so you can get feedback. You can also use an email form.

·  One thing to always keep in mind is: DON'T STEAL!! People will notice that you stole eventually and attack you for it, plus it's illegal if the site is copyright. Stealing is a big no no! stealing

·  Add your page to as many directories as possible.

·  Don't sign guestbooks with something like "Hey come see my site!" It's sorta annoying and rude. Instead, take a little more time and tell them what you think of their site. Be nice!! They probably go to the sites of the visitors anyway, so there is no need to even ask sometimes.

·  Don't overdo it on the graphics and such. It will look cluttered and take forever to load!

·  Do as many link exchanges as possible.

·  One last thing is to put a link to your main page on the bottom of all the subbies you write. If someone uses your subbie, you have a link to your site at the bottom. That will increase the hits you get and you will always get credit for your work. :)
